This introductory flight option is ideal for those who are curious about aviation, but are unsure of their desire to become a pilot. Your flight instructor will brief you on the basics of flight. You will learn how to taxi and takeoff your 4-seat Cessna 172 airplane. You will fly the plane around the area surrounding the airport during this short flight. This lesson includes: up to 30 minutes of time in a Cessna 172, preflight briefing, and up to 30 minutes of flight instruction. Investment $49.
This introductory lesson is a good choice for anyone who really wants to get a taste of piloting a small airplane. Your flight instructor will brief you on the basics of flight. You will learn how to taxi and takeoff your 4-seat Cessna 172 airplane. You will fly the plane over Lake Allatoona while enjoying the beauty this area has to offer. You may optionally land at another airport (with the assistance of your instructor, of course). This lesson includes up to 48 minutes of time in a Cessna 172, preflight briefing, up to 48 minutes of flight instruction, and your very own pilot logbook in which your flight will be recorded. Investment $99.
This is our most popular introductory lesson. This lesson is a good choice for anyone who wants to see how much fun and utility one can get from being a pilot. Your instructor will give you an extensive brief on the basics of flying. You will learn how to taxi and takeoff your 4-seat Cessna 172 airplane. You will then fly the plane over Lake Allatoona, over Cartersville, and over the foothills that surround the Rome Airport. You will then land at the Rome Airport, with the assistance of your instructor. You may spend up to an hour on the ground before returning. While there you might wish to grab a bite to eat the the Prop Stop Deli. You will then fly the plane back to McCollum field. Of course you can bring a friend with you on this trip (subject to weight limitations of aircraft). This lesson includes: up to 72 minutes of time in a Cessna 172 with an instructor, preflight briefing, and your very own pilot logbook in which your flight will be recorded. Investment $129.
