Phil has been flying since
1990, having earned his private pilot license in 1991. Phil
learned to fly in Michigan, and is no stranger to cold weather
flying. Phil continued to fly while attending Purdue University where he
earned an M.S. in low-temperature condensed matter physics. A
little know fact: Phil was on the research team that developed
the solid state blue-green lasers that made affordable DVD
players possible.
As you can see from the photo, Phil is also an aircraft builder. He has spent his spare time over the last five years building the Zenith CH601HDS Super Zodiac shown.
When Phil isn't giving flight instruction he might be found flying skydivers or skydiving himself at Atlanta Air Sportz, the best dropzone around.
